OUR SERVICES
Our services include:

-
Providing transport within Biggleswade, such as giving lifts to medical appointments
-
Visiting or calling clients regularly (e.g. weekly) for a chat. This is often called befriending.
-
Assisting with tasks such as shopping, gardening or DIY.

If there is something you need help with that is not listed on the website, please call to see if we can help you. If we can’t do the job ourselves, we may know a service that can.

If you need help, or know someone who could use support, please contact us on 07771104255. Please be prepared to leave a voicemail with your name, number, and reason for contacting us. Someone will be in touch within 24 hours. However, we are unable to fulfil many last-minute requests, so please give us at least 48 hours’ notice were possible.

We request that clients pay volunteers 45p per mile for lifts and other activities that require transport to cover the costs of fuel and vehicle use. With advance notice and depending on availablity, we have a wheelchair we can lend out and use on trips out.

Since we are reliant on volunteers, we are not able to provide lifts to locations outside of Biggleswade. If you call, our phoneholders can suggest other possible transport for lifts beyond Biggleswade; you can also try Greensand Country Community Transport.

We also cannot provide personal hands-on care or replace the services of social care.
Biggleswade Good Neighbours helps to deliver the Biggleswade Community Newsletter – please click the link to access the online archive. We also host coffee mornings for clients and volunteers, and run regular ‘task forces’ in town to collect litter. Anyone is welcome to volunteer to take part in a task force, including children (supervised by their parents).
